While it's true that big events and occasions happen at home as well as abroad, I give them their own category because it is such a specific way of shooting. Festivals and events are characterized by colours, and crowds, and costumes as far as the eye can see. Making sense of it all is like concentrating on a single voice in a noisy room.
What do you decide to focus on, and how do you capture that focus in the midst of all the activity? Sometimes the only thing to do, is wade right into the middle of it.
